A BISHOP'S CONDEMNATION.

Bishop Green, in an address at the Ballarat Anglican Synod, condemned church raffles. They were organised, he said, by weak men and weak committees to gain a few pounds without serious cost to themselves, and who did not scruple to appeal to one of the most lamentable propensities of t Ue Australian character —the love of gamblin.
