SAD BURNING FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, Tuesday. Margaret Cassidy. a young married woman, residing near Paeroa, was found last night dead, owing to her having fallen into the fireplace on Sunday night in a fainting fit. Her husband had been away since February. Her two children, of six and two years' of age, were found in bed. BURNED TO DEATH. Greymouth, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day touching the death of Mrs. Cassidy, who was found dead at Paroa last night. Evidence sho-wed that deceased had evidently fainted and fallen into the fire. A verdict of death from suffocation was returned. A FATAL COINCIDENCE. Auckland, Last Night. A fatal accident occurred in Beach road to-night, when Henry Alexander, a retired sea captain, aged 74 years, met his death through being knocked over by a tram car. Some little time ago Alexander fell off a tram car, receiving such injuries as necessitated his detention in the hospital, and this was his first time out. He was very shortsighted, especially at dusk, and as he was crossing the road he failed to notice the approaching car. He was knocked down. He was taken to a chemist's shop, where a doctor pronounced life extinct.
