Summer parcels are unchanged and winter are a half-penny deaTer. London, May 8. Tallow.—Twelve hundred and fourteen casks were offered, and 008 sold. Mutton, fine 37s 6d, medium 34&• 6d; beef, fine 36s fid, medium 33s 6d. AMERICAN WHEAT. London, May 8. The visible American wheat supply is 8G,282,000 bushels. NOLAN AND CO.'S REPORT. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report for the week ending May 9, 1912: Poultry.—On Saturday we had a large entry, about 200 birds being penned. Prices were satisfactory, all linos securing keen competition. Prices were as follows:—Hens, fat Is 8d to 2& 4d, ordinary Is 4d to Is 8d; pullets, to 2s 4d; cockerels, Is fid to 2e Od, small 9d to Is; roosters, Is 2d to Is lid; ducks, Is f)d to 2s; Muscovy, Is 7d to Is Od; turkey hens, 4s 3d. Fruit.—Supplies show a considerable decrease. Apples and pears are the chief lines offering. We quote:—Apples, Jonathans, bushels, <ss to (is sd; half cases, 3s to 3s fid; Northern Spy, half cases, 3s to 3s fid; Rome Beauty, 5s 6d to 6s; Rokewoods, 5s to 5s fid; Clcopatras, os fid to (is; pears, dessert, half cases, 5s to 5s fid; cookers, 3s to 3s 6d; bushels, 5s fid to fis; grapes, local, 9d per lb; walnuts. 7d per lb.; tomatoes, 3s to 4s; Island oranges, 7« fid to 8s 9d; cabbages, Is to 2s doz.; onions, lv,d per lb.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our pens were taxed to their utmost with birds of all classes. Prices were still maintained, good forward pullets being sought after. We quote:—Hens, old Is 5d to Is 1 Id. young Is lOd to 2s fid; pullets, young Is 6il to 2s fid, forward 3s Id to 4s; ducks. Is Sd to 2s fid; cockerels, young Is 3d to Is fid, fat Is 9d to 3s Id; drakes, Is 7d to 2s Id; p.b. Brown Leghorn cockerels, 12s. The usual line of auction sundries and furniture realised satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week large shipments have come to hand, including a large shipment of Rarotongan bananas and oranges. Prices as under, according to quality and size of cases; Apples, dessert, best colored varieties. 5s to 9s fid; cookers, 5s to 5s 9d; dessert, 4s to 8s fid; others, 4s to 4s fid; oranges, repacks, 8s fid to 9s fid; green, fisfid to 7s fid; cape gooseberries, 5s to 6s; peaches. 3e 3d to 4s 6d; tomatoes, 2s fid to ss; quinces, 5s fid to (is; grapes, best Gross Coleman, Is iy,d per lb;' seconds, 5d to 10d; passion fruit, 3s to; 3fi 6d; bananas, ripe, 3d per lb; green Rarotongan, 14s fid to 15s 6d.
