N.S.W. POLITICS.

COMPREHENSIVE LAND SETTLEMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 15, 12.20 a.m. Sydney, April 14. The Hon. W. A. Holman, Minister for Lands, speaking at Temora, outlining the Government's policy, foreshadowed important railway developments. The Government was dissatisfied with the methods of duplication under the Chief Commissioner, and had decided to transfer the powers to a board consisting of the Minister for Works and Chief Commissioner. They did not blame the Commission, who had far too much to do. Land settlement would be pushed ahead, and 600,000 acres of Crown lands would be opened for settlement this month, and 1,250,000 acres before the end of the year. Altogether, 18,500,000 acres could be made available. The Government intended to reintroduce the Members' Salaries Increase Bill.
