MAORI MORMONISM.

PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY'S PROTEST. By Telegraph—Pres» AuMktira. Palmerston North, Last Night. In connection with the Presbyterian Assembly's protest against the Hon. Terangihiroa and Dr. l'omare, M.P.. giving political addmst's at the Mormon confori nee, the Rev. Budd, of Feilding, replying to Mr. Romney, leader of the Mormons, says that the deliverance of political addresses by such prominent public men is likely to affect the attendance materially, and to bring under the influence of Mormon teachers many who would otherwise not be there, and it is not the function of a Minister of the Crown to act as bellman for any religions gathering. Against that we respectfully made our protest.
