CELEBRATIONS IN WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Laßt Night. St. Patrick's Day was celebrated on Saturday by a .procession and sports in Newtown Park. The weather was perfect. Mass was said at nine o'clock, Dfean Reginault preaching a sermon appropriate to the occasion. At the conclusion of the service a procession was formed, headed by Jupp's Band, and assisted by Stanne's Cadet Drum and Fife Band. Among those who marched were St. Patrick's College cadets, Marist Bros, cadets, Hibernian Society, and Catholic Olub. A feature of the procession was the Irish jaunting car, in which was seated Mr. M. Bohan, father of the H.A.C.8.5., who founded the Wellington branch in 1874. ■ Among those present at the' sports were Archbishop Redwood, Archdeacon Devoy, Dean Reginault, Father O'Shea (Vicar-general), Dr. Kennedy (rector at St. Patrick's College), Sir Joseph and Lady Ward and Miss Eileen Ward, and Sir Jam;es Carroll. A programme of sports was, gone through, including a display by pupils of the Sacred He-art Convent. The Irish national concert will be held in the Town Hall on Monday evening.
