THE BATTLESHIP MAINE
REMOVED TO DEEP WATER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received March 18, 12.55 a.m. Havana, March 17. The battleship Maine was raised and towed into deep water and sunk. Amid the thunder of saluting guns, the dead were removed from the wreck and borne through the streets. They were then placed aboard battleships and conveyed to Washington.
