NO. 3 BORE STILL ACTIVE. * The manager reports that up to noon on Monday some 35 barrels of oil had been secured from this bore, and that up to a late hour last night the bore was flowing strongly, a tremendous pressure Of gas being in evidence. The strong blow-out on Saturday night will have, the beneficial effect of absolutely freeing the bore from wax and grit, making possible a stronger flow than previously experienced. At the present time the gas pressure is almost too strong to allow the oil to come away* The underground tanks at this bore are all practically full, and immediate preparations must be made for excavating another tank..
Nos. 2 and o are flowing as usual. Mr. H. J. Brown, chairman of directors of the British Oilfields, Ltd., returned to New Plymouth last evening.
Mr. Wm. McLean, of Wellington, intends to leave on a trip to America during May next in connection with the purttiaee of a'boring plant for She Boriithorn Oil Company, of New Plymouth, says the Wellington Dominion. A prospecting company, with a capital of £BO,OOO is .being floated in Canterbury to operate in the New Plymouth district.
