A MYSTERY SOLyED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, Friday. The unknown man who waa killed by a tramcar in Wellington yesterday week has been almost definitely identified as Henry Galvin, who passed through Westport from Greymouth on February 27 by the Arahura for Wellington. He was bound for the Wanganui races, and had about £SO in his possession. A photo was identified by half-a-dozen people. He was a laborer and single. ANOTHER MOTOR-CAR FATALITY. Auckland, Last Night. A fatal motor-car accident occurred at 5 o'clock this morning, and resulted in Mrs. Prouse, of Manganui, being killed, and Mrs. Jordan, wife of Canon Jordan (Mayor of Tauranga) being seriously injured. Both ladies, who were sisters, were on a visit to relations. The ladies were crossing the road at the time, when a motor-car driven by Garnet Campbell came along and knocked them down, throwing Mrs. Jordan aside and running over Mrs. Prouse. Mrs. Jordan sustained a broken arm, three broken" ribs and a cut on the head, besides being severely bruised. She now, lies in the hospital in a serious condition.

DEATH FROM PARALYTIC SEIZURE. Nelson, Last Night. Miss Dora Huffam, .schoolmistress at Pakawau, was found in an unconscious condition this morning, and succumbed later, the cause being a paralytic seizure. YOUNG WOMAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE. Wellington, Last Night. Florence McAnally, aged 28 years, employed at the Strand Cafe, Dixon street, 1 attempted suicide to-day by cutting her throat with a razor. She was foii'nl in 'the bedroom bleeding from a slight wound. She was suffering from'the effects of drinkr The doctor ordered her removal to the hospital. Her condition is not serious. A YOUNG MAN'S DEATH. Wellington, Last Night. John McCarthy, aged 23 years, who was remanded by the Magistrate on the oth inst. for medical treatment- for drunkenness, and who was removed from gaol to hospital, died to-day. Deceased, who was a native of Sydney, had resided in the Dominion for about seven years.
