FIRES.

FIRE AT IXVERCARGILL. By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Invercargill, Friday. A fire occurred at midnight in the premises of W. E. Butcher, tailor, which were gutted. It spread to the roof of adjoining shops, in which stocks were considerably damaged by smoke and water. The places damaged are occupied by Rankin, jeweller; Holmes, bootmaker, and Gilchrist, chemist. The total insurances are: Stocks, £1250 in New Zealand, £1350 in South British, £I2OO in Victoria, £350 in Commercial Union, £IOO in Alliance. The buildings were insured for £I2OO in the Norwich Union and £OOO in the Guardian. The loss 'on stocks is heavy. If your property is not insured, call at or ring up the United Insurance Company, Ltd., Devon street; telephone 198. Webster Broß. district agents. Insurances effected on the most favorable terms—Advt.
