DEATH-FROM BURNS, i By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Ellen Henry, aged l r G, the daughter of a Taupiri resident, was cleaning a stove on Tuesday with bkcklead and turpentine, when the turpentine ignited. She rushed from the house enveloped in flames. Her mother smothered the flames with a blanket, and was herself badly burned. The girl died on Wednesday.

FALL DOWN A HOLD. Gisborne, Last Night. An unfortunate accurred at the town wharf this afternoon.' A gang of men were engaged discharging the coal barque Thora at the wharf, When a laborer named Joe O'Connell evidently tripped over a coil' of rope and fell through the hatch, 20 feet, on to the coal. He was removed to the hospital, suffering from concussion, and his condition is regarded as serious.

UNKNOWN BODY FOUND. Gisborne, Last Night. The body found in the Wairoa riveV yesterday is that Of a European, apparently middle-aged, turning grey, and stoutly built, about Sft. lOin. in height. It had been in the water about seven days. As no one could identify the body it was photographed and interred. No one is reported to be missing. UNKNOWN MAN'S DEATH. Wellington, Last Night. The unknown man who was knocked down by a tramcar in Willis street on Thursday evening and had his skull fractured, died to-night. No evidence as to his identification has been forthcoming. INFANT FATALLY INJURED. ' Wellington, Last Night. Mona Jirpp, 15 months old, the child of Claud Thomas Jupp, was playing with a boy in Alexandra Hall this morning, when she touched a large platform weighing 2 cwt., which was standing on one end against the wall. The platform fell on the infant's head, fracturing the base of the skull. She died soon after her admission to hospital. The child's father was framing pictures in the hall at the time of the accident.
