FIRES.

BOARDING-HOUSE BURNED. 1 By Telegraph—Press Association. j Auckland, Last Night. A thirteen-roomed house at Ponsonby, occupied by Mr. and Mrs. o*Leary and family and six boarders, was partially destroyed by fire to-night. When the fire broke out about ten o'clock the occupants were abed and asleep, and they had just time to get out of the building uninjured. The upper and a portion of the lower storey were gutted. The furniture is insured for £250 in the Commercial Union. Mrs. O'Leary's loss is considerably in excess of that sum. The house is owned by Mrs. Thompson, of Northcote. Her insurance is unknown.
