WANGANUI MAYORALTY. By Telegraph— Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. A special meeting of the Borough Council was held to-night to elect a Mayor in place of Mr. C. E. Mackay, resigned. Mr. E. D. Liffiton, senior councillor and deputy-iMayor, was unanimously elected to fill the position for the ensuing two months. Mr. Mackay announced himself as acquiescing to the requests to seek re-election in April. A MININ© TRANSACTION. Westport, Last Night.
