BODY FOUND. By Telegraph—Press Association, Blenheim, Tuesday. The police yesterday afternoon received information that the body of a man had been found in Picton Harbor. The face was unrecognisable* but by the correspondence in the pocket and other marks the body was identified as that of B. Desforges, the missing Blenheim Gasworks elerk.

A FATAL FIRE. Auckland, Last Night. An inquest on the body of G. Preston, who was burned to death in a boardinghouse fire at Paeroa yesterday, Was held the same afternoon. 'The jury returned a verdict that the fire" was accidental and that the outbreak originated in or near deceased's room. The insurances were as follows: £BOO on the building, £SOO on the furniture, £l5O on billiard tables, £4O on piano. The loss must be at least double the amount of the insurance.

A SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, Last Night. Mrs. Elizabeth Tavener, aged 63, who resided with her husband in King Edward street, South Dunedin, died suddenly to-day at Macandrew Bay, where she had been spending a holiday. She collapsed on the road, and by the time she could be taken to the hospital she wae dead. The cause of death was the bursting of an ulcerated varicose vein. FATAL FALL FROM WAGGON. Invercargill, Last Night. John Crawford, married, aged 28, a recent arrival from the Old Country, fell off an over-head construction waggon . on the tramways to-day, and died in the 'hospital to-night. *»
