31 SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. The twenty-fifth annual show of the Masterton. A. and P. Association was opened to-day in fine wsather and with a satisfactory attendance. A large number of visitors were present from all parts of the Dominion, and all were enthusiastic over the excellent appointments on the ground and the splendid show of fat stock. Fat cattle were held by competent judges to be superior to anything previously seen in New Zealand. The championships were awarded as follows: Sheep—Lincoln, ram, trustees late D. McMaster; English Leicester, ram, S. E. Lancaster; ewe, S. E, Lancaster; Border Leicester, ram, Slack Bros.; ewe, -T. W. Wardell; Komney "Marsh, ram, A. L. Wheeler; ewe, J. A. Hewitt; Southdown, ram, A. J. Stonewigg; ewe, Nelson Bros; Shropshire, ram and ewe, H. D. Vavasour. Cattle.—Purebred Shorthorn, bull and cow, W. C. Buehanan; Hereford, bull and cow, Ernest Short; Ayrshire, bull and cow, E. C. Fowler; Jersey, bull E Eagle, jun., cow, S. R. Lancaster; Hol-steui-Fnesan, bull and heifer,' W. J. Lovelock. Horses. —Thoroughbred, W. McCullough's "Conqueror"; draughts-, J. D. Mitchell's "Here I Go," with E. Short's Royal Treasure" second.
