During 1911, employers notified 1261 labor exchanges of 757,109 vacancies, and the exchanges filled 570,000, in addition to finding 125,300 men for odd jobs. FROZEN MEAT IN SWITZERLAND. The man who called himself Wied, who was arrested after getting into an Orleans to Paris train, has been identified as Jos. Renard, an associate of those alleged to have been concerned in the outrage at Montmarte last month, when a bank messenger was shot and robbed, FANNING ISLAND. London, February 1. Nothing is known officially of the Honolulu report that Britain is fortifying Fanning Island as a coaling station.
