WAITARA NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of property owners desirous of severing from the Waitara Borough was held in the Clifton 'Hall on Monday evening, about being present. Mr. Birdling, who occupied the chair, sta'ted that since the 'last 'meeting lie and Mr. Gaiisted had interviewed Messrs. Govett and ■■ Quilliam, of New Plymouth, who stated that there were two or three ways of getting the farming lands severed from the borough. The land proposed to be cut off from the borough would first have to be surveyed, the cost of which would not run into any great expense. It would be wecessary for all concerned to sign a list' showing the number of sections and valuation of 1 same of all lands proposed to-be severedirom the borough. The list was signed bv all present, and, as soon as all the signatures are obtained, another.meetins will be called, when boundaries will probably be decided on,
The Waitara Bowling Club are plaving a match asrainst New Plvmoutli at Waitara on Thursday, 25th inst. Three banner rinks and two ordinary rinks will take part. The Waitara Fire Brigade floral fete, which is to be held on the Camp Unserve on Thursday, promises to be well attended, and a laTge number' of entries are pxpected. The Waitara Municipal Band have promised to supply music in tlm ;>f+ernoon and evening. Members of the brigade are leavinsr.no stone un turned to make the gathering a success.
