GERMAN ELECTIONS
THE SECOND BALLOTS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Berlin, January 21. The second ballots have resulted in the election of nine Conservatives, six of the Imperial Party (including the Pan-German Liebert), twenty National Liberals (including Herr Bassermann, Drs. Junck and Pasiche), seventeen Radicals and people's party, eight Socialists, seven Centre Party. The Centre Party gained two and lost five seats. The Socialists gained eight and lost live. The National Liberals gained ten and lost six. Baron von Moltke, of the Imperial Party, a former Prussian Minister of the Interior, was defeated.
VATICAN AND STATE. Received 22, 11.30 p.m. Berlin, January 22. Tlerr von Kiderlin-Waochter and Cardinay Merry del Val discussed the questions between Germany and the Vatican. including the German Centre Party's attitude in relation to internal politics.
