Admiral King-Hall, addressing the bluejackets, said that in days to come there would be a very extensive Commonwealth defence policy. The prowess of her naval fprce was an urgent necessity, making the first line of defence so efficient and ready that when the time of testing came, if it ever did, the Australian navy would be ready' to take its place in line with the fleets of the Old Country for the defence of the shores of Australia.
