SUICIDE OF A CHINAMAN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. 1 Thames, Wednesday. A Chinese laundryman named Hoong On was found shot to-day. When his customers called and found the premises looked, a window was opened, and the Chinaman was found- lyiny in the kitchen dead. He had placed a revolver, fully loaded, in his mouth and fired, the roof of his mouth being shattered. Death must have been instamtaneous. 'No reason is assigned for the deed, except that deceased complained of his health. A SHUNTER KILLED. Napier, Last Night. Frank Hargreaves, the shunter who was ..severely injured by being run over by two railway trucks at Port Ahuriri this morning, died in the hospital this afternoon. I DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE. Christchurch, Last Night. At the inquest on Geo. Wm. Hobbs, a furrier, who dropped dead' in , the street this morning, a verdict, based on the evidence adduced, was returned that death was due to heart disease! MOTOR CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED. > Gore, Last Night. A shocking accident occurred' on the Racecourse road this afternoon. An agent of the Southland Farmers' Cooperative Association, • Edward Smith, was riding a motor bicycle, and collided head on with a motor car. It appears that the rider was on the wrong side of the road, which is in bad order. He attempted to cross, with the result that Smith collided violently with the car, apparently on the left side. He was picked up unconscious and bleeding profusely from an extensive cut over the left eye, and was removed, to town. The bicycle is a. total wrecjc, Smith's condition is thought to. be serious, but how serious is not ascertainable in, the meantime.- »<--
