There have been u2BB houses destroyed at Osaka, and 30,000 persons are homeless.
The fire originated in a house of illfame, the whole quarter beign consumed. Jlnnv women perished in the flames, which spread to a crowded workmen's quarter. Soldiers assisted the firemen in quelling the outbreak, which was controlled after ten hours' duration.
