GREAT PROTEST MEETING

At the great protest meeting in the Albert Hall on February 28 Messrs. McKenna, P6ase, Hobhouse and Colonel Beely, members of the Ministry, Messrs. Lambert, M.P., and St. Leger and Lords Granard and Herschell will appear on the platform.

Mr. F. E. Smith, writing to the Times, 6tates that votes for womea would be a national calamity of the first magnitude. A referendum is desirable to belp the section of Liberals who are prepared to face the difficulty. The Ministry would not be inconsistent in advocating, a referendum, as it is not a party measure.
