JIM BARRY ARRIVES. FIVE FIGIITS OX HAND. Auckland, December 20. Jim Barry, the well-known American heavy-weight boxer, accompanied by his brother, ".Mike" Barry, is a through passenger to Sydney by the Ma ram a to-day. The boxer, who reports himself to lie in splendid condition, has been working hard in the stokehold on the voyage across, and expects to he readv to enter the ring three weeks after his'arrival in. Sydney. He is one of the few "white hopes" at present in sight with anything like a record, and although practically a youngster, lm.s fought no less than 150 fight, ami of these lias got the verdict in all but seven. He has met Langford on no less than nine occasions, and was only beaten once when the "Tar Baby" knocked him out in sixteen rounds at Los Angeles, while he got two newspaper decisions against the colored freak.
