MR T. M. WILFORD, M.P.
HUE CONDITION' OF HIS HEALTH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In proposing the itonst of the health of Mr. T. M. Wilford, Mayor of Wellington, at a complimentary social last night, Mr. R. 'Fletcher said the time was now approaching when further honors would he heaped upon him. In reply, Mr. Wilford said the worst part of his public life came that day, when he had been informed by his medical advisers that he would be unable to take office if it were offered him. He had been eighteen years getting where he was politically, so it came hard. He believed, however, in a few months he would be wholly recovered. He didn't know whether to resign or not, but before he went abroad he would leave a signed nomination paper behind, and leave himself in the electors'' hands. If returned and he was still in ill-health, he would immediately resign.
