BALLOT FOR LAND.
SHALL GRAZING RUN'S. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. The result of the ballot for small grazing runs in tile McKenkie Country today was- as follows:—2200 acres at Burke's Pass, W. H. Hunt, 'J L'imaru, builder; part of the old Xekapo run, 17,000 acres, F. Lake lleGregor, son of John McGregor, who has been 50 years in the Mackenzie country; part Glenhannc,r, 20,000 acres, Mrs*. Ellen Gould, of Rainclitr, a woman with a large family; a Glcnmore west side of late Tekapo ran, 15,500 acres, Mrs. Black, wife of Walter Black ,a well known settler of Fairlie, formerly stock inspector there; lower part Simon's Pass (best of the five), 10,200 acres, \V. J. Raskins, carpenter, Ashburton.
There wore 140 individual applicants admitted to the ballot. The chairman of the hoard impressed upon them that the residence conditions would be strictly enforced.
