A compromise has been arranged between the militarists and economists, whereby Cabinet has consented to the expenditure of 92,500,000 yen (£9,2.50.000), spread unevenly over six years, for the construction- of a battleship, and three super-Dreadnought cruisers. Tt is hoped that by economies the revenues will cover the expenditure in l!>r-2.
