THE O'SHAUGHNESSY CASE.
APPEAL FOR NEW TRIAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The trial of James Edward O'Shaughnrssy, Charlotte Campbell and Mary Hassell, charged with havir" ; i"on accessories after the fact, of death of Elsie Alexandra Holland, was proceeded with in the Supreme Court to-day. A quantity of evidence was taken, and the case was not concluded when the Court rose. Counsel for Martha Jane O'Shaughncssy has intimated that he intends to ask leave to apply to the. Court of Appeal for n new trial, on the ground that the verdict of manslaughter was against the weight of evidence. The Judges will consider the application.
