FIRES.

OUTBREAK IX WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. A fire occurred at 1 o'clock this morning in a two-storied building occupied by the A. and P. Food Company, on Thorndon Quay. The fire originated in the engine-room and spread to the second floor and roof, but the brigade quickly subdued the blaze. The damage done was not extensive. The building was insured for £IOOO in the London and Lancashire office, and the stock for £l-245 in the National office. The cause of the outbreak ig supposed to have been the overheating of the exhaust pipe from the engine. If your property is not insured, call at or ring up the United Insui«nce Company, Ltd., Devon street; telephone 198. Webster Bros., District agents. Insurances effected on the most favorable terms.—Advt.
