THE TROUBLE AT RANGITATA

A DIFFERENT VERSION. By Telegraph—Tress Association. Timaru, Last Night. A Press Association message from Ashbur ton,on Friday described the disgraceful conduct of hoodlums at Rangitata towards a party of no-license advocates a few nights before. The chairman of the school committee and the schoolmaster have written to the Timaru Herald denying practically the whole story, and admit only that the meeting was stopped by a noise outside. Some small mischief was done to a vehicle and one fresh egg was thrown. They suggest that the opposition was partly due to the party making use of the school without permission, and suggest that if the visitors were bruised this was due to their stumbling over boulders in the uncalled for panic flight.
