FIRES.
A HOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Night. At 3 o'clock yesterday morning a sixroomed house, owned and occupied by 11. Moffatt, at Kairanga, was destroyed by fire. Inmates only just had time to get out, and nothing in the building was saved. The 'building was insured for £2OO in the Sun office, ami the eontents for £250 in the Farmers' Mutual Office. FIRE IN BOOT SHOP. Wellington, Last Night. ■ Fire broke out to-night in A. Lindsay's boot premises on Lambton Quay. The building was saved, but the heavy stock of boots and shoes sustained severe dam- ' age thrpugh the fire and the water. Insurances are not ascertainable.
