WERE BURGLARS RESPONSIBLE? By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. It is stated that the investigation of the safe in Macky, Logan's premises showed twelve or fourteen deep incisions close to the handle apparently caused by a. chisel. The contents of the safe included several hundred pounds' worth of light jewellery, which gives color to the theory that there may be some connectatn between the conflagration and an unsuccessful attempt at burglary.
