SPORTS PROTECTION.

BOXING CONTESTS IN TOWN HALL. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation of about forty, representing -various sports todies, waited on the City Council to-night, and urged the claims of the Sports Protection League with regard to the use. of the Town Hall for boxing contests. The deputation also traversed the statements made by a previous deputation, which had protested against boxing being allowed in the Town Hall. The City Council deferred consideration of the matter until its next meeting.
