BAND CONTEST.

SMALL ENTRIES. By Telegraph—Press Association!. Gisborne, Last Night. At an urgent meeting of the execut&e of the Band Contest Committee last evening it was decided that owing, to the small number of entries received: for the contest in February, to extend the closing date for receiving entries to the 25th inst. The following entries only have been received: —A grade: Wellington Garrison, Westport Garrison, Newton (Auckland), Palmerston North and Waihi Federal. B grade: Masterfcon, Wanganui City, Whangarci and GisboJhe. All efforts are being made to ensure the comfort of the visiting bands.
