A CLUB HOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Saturday. The handsome club house built for thi defunct Christchurch Amateur Rowing Club was destroyed toy fire early thii morning. • When the alarm was givei the whole place was an flames, and th< brigade could only save, the adjoining property. The club had a precarious existence, and went under to older rivals the club house being sold last year foi £l2O. Since then it has been used as a dancing hall. Some boats in the shec were destroyed. A HOUSE DESTROYED. Wellington, Saturday. A Are at Ngaio yesterday destroyed an eight-roomed house, owned and occupied by A. Holmes. No cause is assigned, The occupants <were away all day.
