PERILOUS EXPERIENCE.
CAPSIZED IX A SQUALL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night, i lie ketch Matakami capsized during a squall oil' Kiwaka this morning. There was a north-west wind blowing, and it veered to the south-west with such suddenness that nothing could be done to avert the accident. The men 011 board, Tregidga (master) and "McXab, had a narrow escape, clinging to the keel for two hours, with the waves breaking over them. Later the dinghy, which sank when the ketch capsized, came to the surface, and they were able to secure it. It was broken and leaking badly, but they managed to effect rough repairs . with articles of clothing, and, using two planks for paddles, succeeded in Teaching' Molueka. A search for the ketch proved unavailing. j -
