POLLING DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Prime Minister informed a reporter yesterday morning that polling day in connection with the general eJec° tions and the licensing issues was fixed for Thursday, December 7th, and this date would not clash with any show or other fixtures of importance in the Dominion. OTAGO GENTIIAL SEAT. Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. John Bennett, one of the Ministerial candidate for Otago Central electorate, addressed a large meeting of electors at Outrain on Friday evening, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his address and the straightforward way he had answered questions. ' THE PARNELL SEAT. Auckland, November 3. Mr. Moss has announced his retirement from the Parnoll contest, and the ollicial support of the Opposition will now be given to Mr. Dickson, already announced as an Independent Liberal.
