ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CASE OF SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Carterton, Yesterday. News was received at Carterton at a late hour last night that a man named Harry Scott had been found at Te Wharau in an unconscious condition, with a bullet wound in the head. The Carterton police, accompanied by a medical man, went out and ordered the man to be conveyed to the Masterlon Hospital. The wound is over the left eye, and was inflicted by a pea rifle, which was lying close beside the body. The circumstances point to suicide, but no cause is assigned for th«f deed. The man is aged about 45 years, and is well known in the Wairars.pa district. " He is still unconscious and sinking fast. Liter. Scott died while on the road going in to the Masterton hospital from Te Wharau. The body is being brought to Carterton for the inquest. TRAM AND EXPRESS COLLIDE. • Wellington, Last Night. A tramcar collided with an express in Tinakori road to-night. T. H. Cole, an expressman, had an arm broken and a thigh badly cut. The car was slightly damaged, some windows being smashed. The express was completely wrecked.
