N.Z. BUTTER FOR CANADA.

BRIGHT PROSPECTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Canadian Trade Commissioner ! (Mr. W. A. Beddoe) has received a letter from the Deputy-Minister for Commerce at Ottawa, saying a box of New Zealand butter sent to Canada recently arrived I in splendid condition in twenty-seven days at Ottawa, despite the fact that the weather was extremely hot. It was put if " le storage, and the manager there became so struck with its fine appearance and quality that he requested the Minister to enquire from the Auckland Commissioner the cost of a trial shipment, with a view to purchasing more largely in the future. The Minister's letter concluded with thp words: "Itjs the best butter I have ever tasted." "'•This communication," says Mr. Beddoe; "means that the possibility is opened up for sending-Now Zealand butter as far east as Ottawa, which is 3000 miles from Vancouver. I have ahvavs considered the market was on the west coast as far east as Winnipeg, but if butter can find its way as far east as Ottawa it makes it possible to supply all the other large centres in Ontario, such as Toronto (population 355,00.0) and Hamilton (120,000)." Arrangements are being made for a trial shipment. 1
