ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
1 THE TOLOGA BAY TRAGEDY. By TeJegraph— Press Association. Gisborne, Saturday. At Hie inquest on Walter Garland Reid, at Tologa Bay yesterday, a verdict was returned that from the evidence produced, the jury is of opinion that deceased committed suicide by cutting hia throat with a razor. The jury k of opinion that the cause of the act was family troubles. Constable Lamer gave evidence that he had found in deceased's room letters which showed that Reid and his wife had been wrangling, and he had no doubt that was the cause of the tragedy.
A RAILWAY FATALITY.
Wanganui, Saturday. Am inquest was held this morning" on the body of Frank Thomas, who was injured on the sth, and who died in the hospital. A verdict was returned that deceased died from injuries received in a railway accident caused 'by his own want of care.
SHIP'S FIREMAN DROWNED.
Wcstport, Last Night. At the inquest on the body found in the Buller river, evidence was given by firemen on the s.s. Kini identifying it as that of Robert Rugby, formerly fireman" on the Reguhis, but at the time he disappeared (Saturday wVht, September 30) he was fireman 'on the s.s. Gertie. Deceased was a native of London, 26 years of age, and has a brother at sea on the s.s. Aorangi.
