FITZROY CLUB. ANNUAiTmEETIN'G. The annual meeting of the Fitzroy Bowling Club was held in the Club's pavilion last night, when there was a good attendance of members Mr. M'. Healy presided. The annual report was adopted as read.

It congratulated the members on their success in their inter-dub matches during the past season. Of 19 matches played 15 were won, while the aggregate number of points scored by the club were 2057, against their opponents' 1677. Although the membership was not any larger, the finances were slightly bettor than in the previous year. The green was looking in first-claws order, and should he ready for piny early in October. Although this club was a decided asset to the Fitzroy district, the majority of its members resido in the town, and it was to be hoped (hat some of the residents who had plenty of leisure would join, as tho great want had been for players who could be on the green every fine day. The committee and guarantor* had had under consideration the question of turning the club into a limited liability company as the best moans of putting it on a firm footing, and it was now propose*! to form the company, with a capital of .€IOOO, in 200 shares of £5 each, Sit to be paid on application, 5s on allotment, and in. calls of 5s at intervals of not less thaa three months. The .capital subscribe* was to be used to pay off the liability owing to the Bank. It was not expected that more than 2fls would be called up. Every member would be expected to take up one or more .shares. Anyone joining the club would be required to do likewise. The guarantors had taken up two or more shares each, and were joining the club as members. The guarantors were not released from their liability until the account had been cleared off. There was little doubt that, with [ the enhanced value of property, in a short time the shareholders would have a good asset. The thank* of the club were due to the secretary (Mr. Whitehead), who had put in u lot of time on the club's business; also to Mr. J. Avery for a special prize which was competed for at a progressive tournament, and won by Mr. R. Callender; and to Mr. E. Dingle for a pair of bowls, won by Mt J. C Morcy, sen. Mr. ,S. Rennell won the cup for champion singles, and' Messrs. Abbott and Bennett the champion pairs. The report, concluded bv hoping that members would put as much enthusiasm into the game this season as last, and that they would start playing inter-dub matches at an early date. The balance-sheet showed a healthy state of affairs, the finances being bettor than at any time in the club's history. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr. W. Hcaly (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs. O. Oxonham, T. G Sole and F. H. Jackson; secretary and treasurer, H. H. Whitehead (re-elected); committee, Messrs. J. Abbott, E. Dingle A. Avery and P. Lealand, with power to add; green wardens, Messrs. Abbott and Oxenham. The election of skips was held over till the beginning of the season. Match committee, JMessrsj Healy, Abbott, Lealand, Dingle and Whitehead.

It is intended to have the green ready for play by the first Thursday in, October, and the opening day will be fixed later.

The annual subscription was fixed at £2, affiliating members CI. The club decided to place on recbrd its appreciation of the services of the secretary, also the services of Messrs Oxenhani, Rennell and Hwily.
