The New Plynfoilfh East Flying Club lii'ld its annual, meeting <»n Friday night;, when there was a large attendance of members. Mr. <_', . Cutler, was voted to the chair.. The balance-sheet showed A credit balance, and with every, prospect for a satisfactory season, the club anticipates the results for the forthcoming year will he successfnl.. Ten, new members were proposed, and duly elected, bringing the club's membership up to, .twenty-two members. Votes of thanks were passed to all those }vho, had renj dered assistance...to;the club during th<j past year, and after drawing up a pro! gramme for the coming season the meeting terminated. The first race for old birds.took place on Saturday afternoon, and , was flown from Waverley, a distance of 58 miles. Seventy-eight birds, representing thirteen Irtfts, were kindly liberated by the stationmaster at 2 p.m., ,the winning bird arriving home, at 3.5!) p.m. The birds; were subjected to a : bead wind, in spite! of which the birds nil. homed in good! style.
