AUCKLAND v. TARAXAKI. The Auckland Hockey Association is sending a very powerful combination to meet Taranaki on Thursday, and as our provincial reps, are hard to beat on'their own ground, a good struggle may be expected. The match will be played in the Recreation Sports Ground, and followers of the stick game will muster in force. Those who have not yet had the pleasure af being initiated into the mysteries of hockey will, get a very good initiation at this mateh.. '■ : The Auckland team has been greatly strengthened by the inclusion of F. R. Mason and D. K. Porter, two of the finest players in New Zealand. The visiting team is now composed of the following:— Goalkeeper: W. Allen. Full-backs: L. H. Norton, T. 0. Jackson. Half-backs: A. M. Rowe, D. K. Porter, V. C. Kavanagh. Forwards: 0. Burton, K, A.. Whittaker, F. R. Mason, R. H. Partem, H. Burton. Emergency: M. J. Moore. F. R. Mason has been appointed captain a7id L. H. Norton manager of the I team. .
