The Royal Commission on the metropolitan traffic reported in favor of the electrification of the suburban railways and tramways by a scheme to involve an outlay of over five million. WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY. Melbourne, September 14. The next Federal Estimates will include a large sum for wireless telegraphy. RIFLE CLUBS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, September 14. Of 13,108 members* of New South Wales civilian rifle clubs the musketry courses proved 12,315, or 94 per cent., were efficient. SALVAGE FROM A WRECK. Sydney, September 14. The captain of the steamer Knight of St. George, which was wrecked on a reef off Nukualofa, writing to the agents in September, states that he will save £IO,OOO worth of cargo. If the weather holds good he will probably land all the general cargo within a week. He attributes the disaster to volcanic disturbances causing a tidal wave, which set the vessel nine miles out and ahead of her course in an hour and a half.
