RISE IX PRICE OF SUGAR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Colonial Sugar Refining Co. has notified a, further advance of £1 per (on in the prices of all grades of sugar. This means a rise of sixpence on the ;>(Hl> bag, and retailers will no doubt have, to raise the price on parcels of 121bs and upwards. The present advance is the third in less than two months, sugar being now £3 per ton dearer than it was last July. The market for sugar in Australasia is ruled by the European sugar-beet crop.
