WATERSIDE WORKERS

A NEW SCHEDULE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Friday. At the meeting of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Federation, a proposal by Mr. lioardman (Auckland) to ask the Arbitration Court for double pay for all overtime for the whole Waterside Workers' Federation, and failing such award to take a plebiscite for the cancellation of registration, was lost by 11 to 8. A resolution was passed that it be an instruction from the conference to each branch to decline to handle lime and cement unless in dust-proof bags after January 1 next, and that unless all holds are fumigated at least once in two months they should refuse to work therein. The chairman stated that a cablegram had been received from Ben Tillett: "All disputes settled. Great victory." This was received with loud applause.
