L. A. NOLAN AND CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—On Saturday we had a good entry. All classes of birds were represented and met with good competition, Thare is a good demand for taible cockerels. We quote:—Hens, Is 7d to 2s Id; pullets, 2s to 2s sd; cockerels, Is 6d 'to 2s 8d; roosters, 2s to 2s 6d; turkey bens, 4s 6d; guinea fowls, Is 9d; ducks, Is Sd to 2s 44.
In the mart a large quantity of plants and furniture was disposed of at satisfactory prices. Fruit. —Consignments have arrived from Sydney and Tasmania. Owing to small supplies, apples showed an increase in price. We quote:—Mandarins, 8s 3d to fls; lemons (small cases), SS; Tasmanian pears (half-cases), 6s to 6s 9d; applies, Stunners A, 9s 6d to 9s 9d; B, 8s <kf to 8s 9d; C, 7s 6d; bananas, 7s 6d to 9s; oranges, 10s to lis 6d. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT; Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday we had our usual entry of poultry, prices obtained still showing an advance on the previous week. We still have an unsajtisfied demand for all classes ol poultry. We quote:—Hens (old), Is Sd to Is 9d; young, Is lOd to'2s 3d; pullets, 3s to 3s 6d; other, Is 6d to 2s; cockerels (young), Is to Is 6d; other, Is 9d to 2s 3d; ducks, 2s to 2s 4d; drakes, 2s Id; P.8.1.L. dirakes, 3s; Pekin drakes, 3s sd; hen and chicks, 4s 6d; hen and ducklings, 9s 9d; rabbits, Is 4d (pair. Sundries.—ln the mart we disposed of a quantity of usual auction sundries and shrubs at satisfactory prices. Furniture.—On Wednesday we held a clearing sale of household furniture on account of Mr. E. Chatterton at his residence on the corner of Gill and Gover streets. There was a la/rge attendance of the public and prices realised "were very satisfactory.
Fruit.—This has been in fair supply during the week, apples 'being the only fruit coming forward. We quote:— Tongan bananas (green), 7s 6d to Ss; ripe, 2d lb.; oranges (repacks), 12s 6d to: 14s; mandarins, 9s to 10s 6d; lemons, 5s 6d to 6s; peanuts, 2%d lb.; kumeras, 9s; apples, Washingtons, 8s 6d; Epps' Seedlings, 8s; Sturmers, 9s to 10s; colored desserts, 9s to 9s 6d . . LOCAL MARKETS. Butchers' Meat. Beef: Sirloin, 6d; prime ribs, sd; rump steak, 8d; beef from 3d to Gd; corned beef, 4d ana Sd. Mutton: Legs Gd; chops, 6d; loin, sd; shoulders, 5d per lb; necks, 3d. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages: Beef, sd, pork Bd. Lamb: Legs, Cd; forequarters, 4s Gd; hindquarters, 5s Gd. Pork: Fresh, (Id per lb. Fowls, 5s to 6s per pair; ducks, 6s per pair. Dripping, 6d per lb. These prices are for cash only; y 2 d per lb. for booking over cash prices charged by New Plymouth one week.
General Groceries.—Rolled oats and oatina, lOd bag; oatmeal, 3s 3d per 251:b bag; flour, roller, 1001b, lis 3d, 501b (is, 251b 3s 3d.
Cereals, etc. —Oats, Cartons, 3s 3d per bushel, Duns, 3s 6cl, crushed oats 3s fid, barley, 3s 6d; crushed beans, 5s 6d; pollard, 7s 6d per 1001b, 15s per 2001bs; bran, fis per 1001b;.fowl wheat, 4s 6d per bushel; maize, 4s per bushel. Dairy Produce, etc. —Butter: Factory Is sd, dairy lid, best, separator Is 4d per lb; cheese, 9d per lb; eggs, Is Id per doz.; lard, 9d per lb; baeon, lOd per lb; hams, 0y 2 d per lb, rashers lOd; milk, 4d per quart. Fruit—Bananas, 3d per lb, or 51b for Is; lemons, Is per dozen; apples, cookers 3d, dessert 4d and sd; figs, 4d and 6d per box; oranges, Is per doz.; mandarins Is per doz; walnuts 9d per lb; pears cookers 9d, dessert 4d and 6d per lb; pineapples, 4d and 6d each; guavas, 4d per lb; passion fruit, 6d per doz.
