George Perkins, director of the United States Steel Corporation, examined by the Congressional Enquiry, refused to answer questions relating to private campaign contributions made by the New York Life Insurance Company. The committee warned Perkins he was likely to be imprisoned for contempt of Congress. Perkins thereupn asked for time to reconsider his refusal, and his request was granted.
