SPEECHES BY CANDIDATES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Tuesday. Mr. J. D. Hall (Opposition) and the Rev. L. M. Isitt are the only candidates nominated for the North Christchurch seat. Both opened their campaign last night, Mr. Hall with a full address, the Rev. Mr. Isitt with two brief meetings in different of the electorate. Mr. Hall declared he would oppose the present Government, but would not follow Mr. Massoy if he formed a Government. He got a vote oi thanks and confidence. The ttev. L. M. Isitt said his sympathies were with the Government,'but he was an independent. He got a vote of thanks and confidence at both meetings.
