GIVE SMALL BIRDS A CHANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ohristchurch, Last Night. A conference of farmers held at Horrellville to-day discussed the grass grub. It iwas stated that the profits of farmers had been decreased by fifty per cent, as a result of the ravages of the grub. The only suggestion asi to how to cope with the grub that was considered as likely to be of any use, was that small birds should be allowed a free hand for a year or two.
