ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. Patrick Hayden, aged 33, a waggoner, went into a doorway in Cuba street at 11 o'clock last night, and stabbed himself in the stomach with a pen-knife. He collapsed on the footpath, and was conried to a neighboring doctor's, and then removed to the hospital, where he lies in a critical condition. He admitted that the wound was self-inflicted. FATAL MINING ACCIDENT. Greynwrath, Last Night. A fatal accident occurred at the State coal mine this afternoon. Thomas McGahan, aged 32, single, was killed by a fall of coal. Deceased had worked for three years in the mine, and came from Queensland. .
